| 1. Carfax 2. Get it up on a lift and check out the undercarriage. 3. ECU diagnostic (in FAQ) 4. Compression test if you have the tools and knowledge (again in FAQ) 5. Take a magnet to every panel. If it doesn't stay, that might be evidence of bondo. 6. Look for any signs of water damage. (look at wood which covers the ECU in the passenger foot well for any water stains, and check for any rust in the ECU area.) 7. Check tires for even wear. I'm sure others will have suggestions.
